One of the very simple, yet delectable pleasures for me as a child, during the sweltering summer months, was the Slip ’N’ Slide. Remember it? Take a black roll of plastic from the hardware store, roll it out, stake its edges to a flat grassy area. Add running water from a sprinkler. Run. Make sure to squeal with glee as you lower your belly to slide along, Superman style, to the terminus. Repeat as many times as you can…..or until Mom calls you in. Humph.
Somewhere along the way, we adults became too sticky. Lubrication in life, allows us to be moved, to be entered and animated, and to release. Stickiness brings pain. It mandates the triggering of old wounds. The velcro we cling to prevents forgiveness and pardon. The power and privilege of clemency resides, sometimes dormant, within each of our hearts. Olieation, or the oiling of our machine (in body, mind and spirit), provides the glorious slip and slide anew. Tickle and giggle replace cling and clutch. We can, just as kids do instinctively, usher in each summer of life, the flow and joy. The Tin Man was so much happier in the glow of Dorothy’s love and warmth. Pave the way for full release and expression in life. What might slide in your door and ravish you or elicits a radiant smile and rapture, if you get slick?
Cucumber seeds are some of nature’s most slippery things. Cucumber Seed oil, not only high in nutritive content and great for internal consumption and olieation, serves us as a wondrous external lube. I’m blushing a bit here, for I mean not just for the delicate tissue around the eyes in a beauty regime, but as a lube for an entirely more intimate manner! Was I just speaking of heat? In becoming slick, we slide together towards one another, and blessed union. My “Yes!” to that, may just wake the neighbors.
