In having a heart-to-heart last night with a friend, I shared with her the story of how, to appease my daughter and show my support, I went to a Tae Kwon Do class for parents of the students. My daughter excelled, physically, at martial arts, yet I, as her mother, knew she did not have the heart of a warrior, but rather of a lover - which is by the way, the feminine version of a warrior. My body enjoyed the physicality of the class, and it all felt very natural to my own grace and power of movement, but when it came time to kick something or punch something, I had the hardest time putting any vocalization or “umph” into it. My heart just wasn’t in it. It has taken me a lifetime to know this is not only OK, but celebrated, and true for me. Our hearts and our backbones must be behind our actions in life, for us to stand in our full creatrix (or creator) potential.
Sometimes in life we pay “lip service” (and actually meant it, but are not quite ready to pack the punch). I strongly believe when we are really ready for change, we must summon up the courage to stand in and behind our words and actions. When we cannot, we must consider we are standing in the wrong forest. The Birch tree instructs us through its regal and upright nature, in the purity of its white bark, and in its straight and solid growth patterns. Birch essential oil gives us backbone and alignment from a place of true integrity. I know our words are the “what” in life, but our heart informs the “why” in life. When our actions (educated by our true heart) are in alignment with our desires and intentions, we become the co-creators of our life, and can then forge and cultivate our own inner Eden. We can do something and say something, and only when we know “why” we do or say, do we have skin and heart in the game. I could not muster up the grunt and cry of the warrior in class that night, because my way is to deflect aggression with love, not attack. My cellular and genetic make up, gifted me the backbone of loving and compassion. Any action outside of that, and I will fall, because I lack alignment.
White Birch was revered by the original inhabitants of North America, particularly the Sioux, as a wood of protection, and used to make baby cradles and the canoes. There are many varieties of Birch: grey, white, yellow, black, etc… Birch essential oil returns us to our true alignment, so we can feel ultimately and supremely supported in life. Anyone struggling to find feelings of safety, will appreciate her assistance. This oil is hugely anti-inflammatory, works wonders in aiding sore muscles and joints, strengthens bone and ligament/tendon breaks or tears, is a liver tonic and aids in alleviation of acne, and provides relief from gout. Birch returns us to our true self, creates heart/mind resonance, so we mean what we say and we say what we mean.
