Adaptability, Longevity, and Community

-three beautiful words to live by.  I think, naturally, of the Cedar Tree.  In many cultures it represents longevity (they can be some of the oldest living trees in the world according to radiocarbon dating) and strength and protection.  There is “strength in numbers”, in community.

Cedarwood essential oil helps with all types of skin issues: acne,  rashes, eczema, psoriasis, and is very soothing and nurturing to the skin.  Cedarwood is wonderful to apply to the scalp in massage to minimize balding in men, as it increases the circulation of the scalp and has anti fungal and anti bacterial properties.  It relieves itching/dry scalp as well.  Many use her for prostate issues and as a support for urinary health.  This essence supports us on deep levels of adrenal exhaustion and harmonizes lung and respiratory health.  Some cedars are tall and straight, stretching to great heights, and other varieties can be compact and gnarled in their beauty.  The trunks are quite sturdy and grounded yet their leaves can be whisky and delicate and playful….This oil reminds us that in diversity is strength, and to RE-SPOND to the conditions of WHAT IS.

She has the ability to support us in gentle ways with her sweet aroma and to relieve depression.  I also love the symbol of the Cedar Tree as protector; for in our community minded living and adaptability, we find the protection to embrace vitality and longevity.  Applying her topically to the heart and under the nose is a wonderful way to work with her.
