When Our Loving Hurts

I imagine Jesus was a very lonely person (in terms of other human relationships).  With such a big heart, it was likely that not many could stand to be around him too long, as his big love, forgiveness and compassion was not mirrored by the rest of the world.  Some of the best healers in the world operate this way.  Perhaps others want that big love as a healing treatment, in small doses, but I surmise most had a very difficult time spending their lives in close contact with him.  Just as we humans ostracize those people who display the darkest of qualities: those with the biggest anger and hatred and violence, so too do we often shun the big hearted.  Any individuals on either pole or extreme, often have no place at the table.  For these most benefic ones, they show us in the mirror the places we cannot or will not love ourselves to the same degree, and therefore, how we cannot tolerate that kind of love for another.  I am so happy he had Mary Magdalene, another legendary heart heavy-weight.  I feel deep gratitude they could support one another and understand the other’s choices, to stay open and loving in the face of horrific crimes from the world at large.  I find it beautiful that they found one another and stood for each other when nobody else would, never wanting the other to dim their light to fit in or create comfort for the broken hearted.  We all need that level of community and support when we swim upstream, or perhaps are ahead of our time, or have the courage to trail-blaze for the rest of the world that is still learning that love is always the answer.

When Our Loving Hurts, because it always hurts to love so profoundly, but when it hurts others as it triggers their wounding, both the love giver and the love refuser can turn to a plant that is said to grow at the gates of the Garden of Eden.  Spikenard shows us the way home, dissolving all duality.  It was worthy of anointing Jesus’ feet, and Mary Magdalene knew this well.  It helps to prevent headaches, regulates the menstrual cycle, and teaches us of self love, the lack of which is the root of all hurt.  To embrace love, and release resentment or fear of the unknown, to really see our full divinity and therefore be able to receive anyones very big love, fully, just spend some time with Spikenard.  Gratitude will flow in, forgiveness will begin to be the soundtrack playing on loop in your life, and the changes will allow you to be lifted up to the heavens and connect with all your guides and angels.  No matter what side you are on, of that big love, let this essential oil pave your way to let the highest light in.
